Welcome to the first issue of Redwood Current! Each Thursday, you’ll find out what’s happening in Redwood Falls, Belview, Morton, and Lower Sioux Indian Community. Redwood Current is your community, delivered. Let’s get to it!

Redwood Valley Future Farmers of America brought home a National Championship from the FFA Convention in Indianapolis! The team won Premier Chapter for Growing Leaders for their work on the Advocacy Rummage Sale, presented by Addison Schmidt and Ava Meier. Redwood Valley also finished top 10 in Premier Chapter for Building Communities for their Medicine Wheel Garden project, presented by Morgan Kodet and Ella O'Keefe. Kylee Larsen earned the organization’s highest individual honor: an American FFA degree.

Redwood Valley High School Cross Country teams excelled at the State Class A Championship Meet! The boys placed 3rd and the girls reached 4th out of 16 teams each. Tyler Robinson and Addie Thomes earned All-State honors.

Redwood Valley senior Zach Wilson earned a spot on the Class AA All-State Academic Football Team for his excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership.

Giving Back Redwood Lions & Rotarians raised nearly $9,000 during their annual Jail & Bail campaign.

Get out the hats and gloves! The first stretch of winter temps are coming and you might see some snow, too. First, a fairly nice November day to wrap up the workweek. A tricky forecast for Saturday means a solid chance of rain and maybe a coating of sloppy snow. Cold Saturday through Monday, before heading back above average for mid-week. Next week looks dry.
